Barcelona exhibition has name and date change
Hot tub retailers and and wet leisure specialists are being informed that the schedule for the newly named Piscina & Wellness Barcelona exhibition has been brought forward in a radical attempt to help boost exhibitor and visitor numbers.
The Piscina & Wellness Barcelona wet leisure showcase will now be held from October 13 to 16 at the Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via Exhibition Centre. Any exhibitors or hot tub retailers planning to visit the exhibition should be aware that this is now one week ahead of the initially planned date.
By changing the dates and implementing this new approach, which reflects the recommendations of the Spanish sector association ASOFAP and the leading companies in the market in Spain, the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona organising committee hope to increase the event’s already significant pulling power. With 62 per cent of exhibitors and 37 per cent of visitors coming from abroad, the exhibition has established itself as one of the world’s top events in the sector, featuring a full range of aquatic facilities and installations.
President of the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona organising committee and chief executive of Fluidra Eloi Planes has revealed that the decision illustrates that the exhibition can, and is prepared, to adapt to market needs.
“Our show is attended by exhibitors and trade professionals from around 100 different countries with an interest in the Spanish swimming pool market, the second largest in Europe and fourth biggest in the world, and in the event’s export connections with the Mediterranean Arc and Latin America,” said Eloi.
“This is why, event after event, we try to adapt as fully as possible to market needs so we can provide new business opportunities and consolidate a recovery that has already begun.”
The exhibition’s director, Josep Jonàs, reported that in view of the increase in demand associated with wellbeing, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona 2015 has included this aspect in the show’s name and will be promoting it strongly this year and in the future.
“Water is the lifeblood of our sector and its new uses, which combine relaxation, sport, leisure, pleasure and health, are transforming the market and driving its growth,” said Josep.
“This aspect is highlighted in the show’s new image, with drops of water representing the areas of swimming pool, wellness and aquatic facilities, all converging in a global event which is sure to boost the business activity of the sector as a whole.”
He also revealed that the show will be taking advantage of the strength of the Spanish tourism industry, the third biggest in the world, to present to hotels, campsites, rural guesthouses, spa resorts and wellness centres a huge range of small and medium-sized hydrotherapy pools, hydrothermal equipment, accessories and aquatic recreational facilities with which to upgrade their establishments and offer their customers new experiences.
Meanwhile, with 16,000 swimming pools installed in 2014, double the figure of the ‘economic crisis years’, organisers of the exhibition are promoting the fact that the Spanish market is a key driver for national and international manufacturers, constructors and distributors of swimming pools, water treatment products and systems, components and accessories.
At the show, exhibitors will be showcasing solutions for the construction of new swimming pools and the renovation and maintenance of a pool stock which, in Spain, exceeds 1.2 million units, promoting the utmost energy efficiency, comfort and practicality and optimizing their integration in the environment.
Apart from setting up business rounds and meetings between exhibitors and buyers from over 20 different countries to promote exports, Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will also host congresses, conferences and seminars. It will also feature the second edition of the Wellness & Spa Experiences Event; including case studies, market research surveys and the latest trends and ideas in the management, design and sale of products and experiences in the wellbeing industry.
Piscina & Wellness Barcelona will also include a new products area, featuring innovative products from exhibitors, plus a dynamic demo zone for recreating aquatic and wellness facilities, equipped with state-of-the-art technology.
A brand new complementary area, named the ‘Innovation Zone’, is also being lined up where technology centres, universities, start-ups and sector associations will explain their prototypes and projects to investors and companies working in the aquatic sector.
The event will also host the Piscina & Wellness Barcelona Awards, which recognise the most innovative and sustainable products in the sector of swimming pools, wellness centres and aquatic facilities.
