SPATEX host supporting success and sustainability
Coventry Building Society Arena is promoting a sustainability partnership with E.ON after helping to ensure SPATEX 2025 was a successful prelude to the 30th anniversary edition.
The SPATEX host has announced that it has entered into a sustainability partnership with E.ON to drive forward the venue’s decarbonisation. It is being underpinned by the 15-year Strategic Energy Partnership announced by E.ON with Coventry City Council in 2023, which commits the organisations to collaborate and transform the city’s approach to carbon reduction, together.
This new partnership with E.ON signals the next stage in a venue-wide sustainability action plan for CBS Arena, which it will now be working on with the energy solutions provider to develop, enhance and deliver over the next three years. A first phase of the sustainability partnership will map out options for low carbon and carbon reduction solutions at the Arena, including the potential installation of solar panels on its roof and accessible electric vehicle charging choices for visitors.
Within later phases of improvements, the CBS Arena’s existing heating and cooling system may also be upgraded removing the need for gas, helping it to decarbonise its energy usage and enable renewable options. The organisations will work together to further enhance the CBS Arena’s energy efficiency and sustainability footprint, aligning with Coventry City Council’s climate change strategy and energy vision and to inspire further action from businesses across the city.
“This is a major milestone for our business and we are proud to be partnering with E.ON to drive the next stage of our sustainability strategy,” revealed CBS Arena Managing Director Paul Michel.
“E.ON is headquartered in Coventry and already has a strategic partnership in place with Coventry City Council, so this was a natural fit when we were identifying a partner as it will enable us to contribute effectively to the city’s wider strategy.
“Our partnership with E.ON isn’t only about making our own venue as sustainable as possible, it’s about making a real difference in Coventry too and inspiring communities and other businesses to think critically about their use of energy.”
The venue will be hosting the major milestone 30th edition of SPATEX, scheduled to take place from February 3 to 5, after welcoming visitors from 24 countries to this year’s successful water leisure and wellness showcase, pictured, with leading distributors promoting a wide range of energy-efficient hot tubs and associated products and professional services to help dealers attract new customers.
After another successive SPATEX appearance as an exhibitor Tuff Spas distributor 1 Stop Spas Trade was among the companies providing post-event praise for the latest outing, along with highlighting the ‘superb organisation’ of this year’s water leisure and wellness product showcase.
“As expected, another great SPATEX and superb organisation,” declared 1 Stop Spas Managing Director Chris Brady.
Spa Parts Vortex Managing Director Darren Waters, who has been promoting Earth Spas designs at successive SPATEX appearances as an exhibitor, revealed: “We have had an incredible time, and it always feels like it is over far too quickly.”
Along with cutting-edge products; including the latest air source heat pumps for hot tub energy-efficiency, as well as cold water treatment technology; visitors also had the opportunity to take advantage of a bumper double seminar programme, with updates on the latest technical and health and safety guidance.
“A big thank you to all our wonderful exhibitors and visitors for making this 29th show such a resounding success,” enthused SPATEX Organiser Michele Bridle.
“It is a great prelude to our milestone 30th anniversary edition, from February 3 to 5, 2026, which marks three decades of SPATEX proudly serving and showcasing the water leisure industry.”
